RAIGANJ , 18 JUNE: People who have business at the Raiganj Judge Court are facing difficulties in preparing deeds and agreements, as there has been no stamp paper denomination of Rs 10 available for more than a fortnight. In their absence, people have been forced to purchase stamp papers of either Rs 20 or Rs 50, thus losing money.
A member of the Raiganj Bar Association, who is also a renowned lawyer and Notary, Mr Swarup Biswas, said: "For the preparation of affidavits and deeds we need the Rs 10 stamp paper. But we have not been getting it for roughly the last fortnight in the Raiganj Judges Court premises. The common people are being financially affected, as they are using stamp paper of higher denomination than are needed,he said. We are planning to meet the North Dinajpur district magistrate Mr Ramanuj Chakraborty, urging him to take measures to ensure the supply of Rs 10 stamp papers," Mr Biswas further added.
